Kern Delta Water Supply Update
Currently the Kern Island, Buena Vista, Stine, and Farmers canal systems and their laterals are operating. The Buena Vista Canal will shut down on Friday, November 7. The Stine will shut down on Monday, November 10th. The Kern Island is expected to run until December 5. Growers are encouraged to inform Operations of any demand so the District can better manage resources.
To provide more options for our water users, the District is now accepting water orders via text message. Text messages will only be monitored from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM and are only for orders for the following day, not for day of changes. Day of changes are required to go through the 24-hour Dispatch line (661) 834-4653. When texting orders, please include grower name, turnout, and flow rate. A confirmation message will be provided back to the grower to confirm the order. The District Text Messaging line is (661) 485-4017. |
