Kern River Status Update
PLEASE NOTE THERE WAS A TYPO IN LAST WEEKS EMAIL
This past week the District Office updated it’s internal land line phone service. This new system better utilizes Voice Over Internet Protocols (VOIP) compared to our old system. This upgrade has not impacted District cell phones, only the land lines. However, some growers have old numbers saved to their speed dials that, while still connecting to our old voicemail system, no longer reach our operations staff and those mailboxes are no longer being monitored. Below are the only three phone numbers that customers should use when trying to reach District staff. All other District phone numbers you may have saved have been discontinued.
Front Office: (661) 834-4656
Operations: (661) 834-4653
Fax: (661) 836-1705
Last week, the Department of Water Resources updated its B-120 forecast for the year. The DWR forecast predicts that the April through July runoff for the Kern River will be around 55% of normal. This forecast is based on observed conditions through April 28. The April 2020 District Proration letter can be viewed here.
The Kern River Groundwater Sustainability Agency meeting for May has been canceled.
